#2 Maryland hosted #1 Navy under the lights in College Park on a brisk Friday night. This is always an exciting and challenging game, but there was extra intrigue this year as this was the first time these teams faced each other since the 2019 National Championship. The game also carries playoff implications within the Chesapeake Conference. The Terps started strong out of the gate, scoring two quick goals before Mack Daniels was able to stop the bleeding by getting Navy’s first goal of the game. In the second quarter, Navy’s attack was able to put pressure on the UMD defense. Cade Trauger, Jack Streeter, and again Mack Daniels put points on the board. At the end of the first half, Navy held a 1 goal lead, 4-3. In the third quarter, Navy and Maryland traded goals back and forth. Jack Streeter earned his hat trick grabbing two goals in the third, with Jack Tabor notching a goal from the midfielders. Navy turned up the pressure in the fourth and pulled away with two quick goals from Jonny DiVirgilio and another from Mack Daniels, completing his hat trick.
